So today, is a very different post. I have been thinking about this post and whether to write it and how to go about it if I choose to do so... and here it is.
I have been writing a whole lot, but most readers do not know who I am. There is a reason for that. When the Lord was speaking into my heart to build up this website, He placed heavily within me John 3:30, which speaks: "He must increase; but I must decrease." There is a lot of self-idolatry in this world, and many individuals build up alters to themselves. They worship themselves and put themselves out there for people to worship them. They are very much like: "Look at me! Look at my beauty. Look at my hair. Look at my clothes. Look at my purses. Look at my shoes. Look at my husband. Look at my children. Look at my family. Look at my activities. Look at my house. Look at my decor. Look at my education. Look at my career. Look at my work. Look at my money. Look at my car. Look at all of my possessions. Look at my ministry. Look at my gains. Look at me! Am I not just prefect or near perfect and deserving of your attention and admiration?” Let me make this very clear, no person besides Christ is worthy of a person’s devotion. All admiration, glory, honor and praise belong to Him.
Refusing to turn to the Lord, from the self-idolatry of this world has come social media platforms that are very much about the self. There was a time when the Lord just spoke into my mind to look at the titles of these social media worlds. YOUTube. FACEbook. INSTAgram. Twitter. To help you to understand what these titles reveal, I will explain each. YOUTube. This one is pretty easy. It is a platform where you can have a channel that is all about YOU so that people can worship YOU. FACEbook. It is a platform that is mostly about posting pictures so that people can see your FACE. The face is most critical when it comes to defining an individual. It is easy to find two individuals with the same hair type or skin tone or height, but it is the hardest to find two individuals with the exact same facial features. Even identical twins can have certain unique traits. Again, the face is very much about the self. Next, INSTAgram. One does not need to think about what pictures they are posting. They can send it off INSTANTLY. Twitter. A bird that just talks and talks with no kind of self-control when it comes to the words that are coming out of its mouth. Even Pinterest has its evil. It enables a person to have different cults of adoration to vanity. Let me not talk about selfies. How many must we take before we come to believe ourselves to be beautiful? The answer to that is n/a, non-applicable. A true love for yourself can only come from the flowing of the love of God in your heart. We live in an ironic society in which people are obsessed with their selves but hate their selves. Yet, I do acknowledge that Jesus has given certain individuals the grace to effectively bring Him glory by using these platforms. For the Lord often uses what the devil intends for evil to do good.
When speaking of idolatry in today's times, idolatry does not only still exist in the form of worshiping carved idols, it also exist in the worshiping of ideals, objects, people and their images. The worshiping of carved idols exist in religions such as the Hindu religion. The worshiping of ideals, objects, people and their images exist worldwide. All of these idols serve as false gods to worship, but let us focus on the worshiping of people and their images. It has come to be that people post their own pictures or pictures of others for worship. People post reels of their lives for worship. And just as the idols of the past were deceitful so are the idols of today. The sociologist Erving Goffman in his book, The Presentation of Self in Everyday Interactions, theorizes that what we often know about individuals is what they present of themselves and what they present of themselves is often false or not the whole picture. Many times, what people present of themselves are distorted realities.
Therefore, when inspiring to build this website and to write posts, Jesus convicted me to speak the truth of who He is for His glory and to not make lies about who I am for a vain glory. His Spirit convicted me to see only Him and to forget myself, more so, that self that I would like for everyone to know. He helped me to understand how much people were perishing and how they need to know HIM because salvation is in Him and Him only. Salvation would not come from me and my vain goings. So, then, the goal of this website is to give Christ the place to INCREASE, to be made known and to be glorified so that souls may come to Him. The only way for this goal to come to fructification is for me to decrease. So, then, I care not about my little doodads and forsake the vain adoration that people would have given me.
Lastly, ministry. Though I often sign, "Much love and blessings, Emery in Christ," Emery in Christ is not a person. It is not me. It is a ministerial platform. Yet, what you see on this site is not my ministry per se. The biblical studies page is a place for me to learn more and more about God and the Bible, His Word. He called me to share it with the world. So, you all are welcomed to learn with me and take any goods you want. Being colorful instead of bland, I have different parts such as a simple Verse of the Day, a more extensive Blessed Thoughts or a more creative Spoken Word. I also have series. The first was the one on the last teachings of Jesus before He was arrested. The second was on the Armor of God. Lastly, I have the Pinterest page in which I have categorized Bible verses and quotes. All of it is purposed for our learning in Christ.
Much love and blessings,
Emery in Christ
P.S. I care not to put a picture of my self for it is not necessary and would not serve a good purpose. Hence, the blank picture.
Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
In life, there are those who contest the Truth with lies and there are those who contest lies with the Truth. On which side do you stand?
What are the spiritual victories that Jesus has given you this year?
I speak of victories for the good of your soul. Count them. Thank Him.
Let us not speak of what you have gained on this earth, for while I have gained many victories in terms of my life on this earth, it is the spiritual victories that give me the greatest, greatest joy. It is because without the spiritual victories, all of the other victories would mean nothing.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Do you ever remember who you were before Christ or ever perceive who you can be apart from Him or ever think on who you would have become without Him?
But here I am. And here you are. All because of His excess love, and we do not deserve even 0.01^infinity of it.
Wow. Oh, wow.
May the presence of the Prince of Peace be with you!
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He showed them Hishands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
We have reached the end of the series on the armor of God! I have learned so much, and I am so very thankful to the Holy Spirit for His teachings and revelations!
So, now, we are talking about the shoes. And the word describes it as "the preparation of the gospel of peace." Three important words stand out: Preparation, gospel and peace.
When we speak of preparation, we speak of putting one self in a condition that will permit one to successfully complete a task. For example, if one is to take a test, one prepares by adequately studying. By studying, one becomes equipped with the knowledge that is necessary to answer the questions that are on the test. Consequently, one successfully completes the test and obtains high marks. In the case of the shoes of peace, we are to prepare to go out and preach the gospel of peace, and these shoes symbolize the whole preparation.
What is this preparation? Well, to answer this question, we must look at how Christ Himself prepared His disciples to go and preach the gospel. Looking into the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and even the accounts of the Acts of the Apostles, we see that Christ prepared His disciples through 1. Calling 2. Teaching 3. Training 4. Testing 5. Anointing. These five steps of preparation will serve as our subpoints for the point on preparation.
a. Calling. Matthew 4:18-25. Mark 2:13-17. John 1:35-51. Christ first called His disciples to follow Him. Sometimes, it required sacrifice (Luke 14:25-27).
There were the four fishermen, Peter with his brother Andrew and James with his brother John. There was Levi (aka Matthew), the tax collector, which was considered a dishonorable occupation. Simon was a zealot, that means that he was in a Jewish political gang that opposed Roman rule over Judea. There was Phillip and Nathanael. There was also James the younger, Jude, Thomas and Judas. What I also noticed was that Jesus did not take the time to convince these individuals to follow Him. He just told them to follow Him and immediately they followed Him. Well, except for Judah whose heart was attached to money. Though physically he followed Jesus, his heart did not.
In today's time, Jesus is not walking around saying, "You follow me," and then walking away. Instead, the Holy Spirit is giving gifts, works and ministries, and He reveals that which He has given to the receivers and calls them to serve Christ (1 Corinthians 12). A spiritual gift is basically a tool. A work is how Christ wants one to use the tool. A ministry is the establishment in which Christ wants one to work. For example, one could have the gift of a word of knowledge. The work could be to speak. The ministry could be...
It is essential for one to know and understand one's gifts, how Jesus wants one to work out that gift and under what organization Jesus wants one to work out that gift. It will keep one from entering a ministry or sub-ministry and then leaving it because Jesus did not give grace because Jesus did not call. It only stalls the work that Christ has for one to do.
I also want to say that the gift of a word of knowledge is not intelligence, nor is it a knowledge set or knowledge of the Bible. Every Christian should know the Bible very well though sadly most do not. And it is not because God gives limited access. He does not. The gift of a word of knowledge does not add on to the Bible. Absolutely not. Instead, it brings out revelation from the Bible. A manifestation of this gift is when in Matthew 16: 13-20 Peter spoke that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Jesus said that it was not something that people taught him or that he himself studied, but instead something revealed straight from the Father in heaven. We also know that the Bible spoke the truth of Christ being the Messiah and the Son of God many times in the Old Testament. So, Peter was not adding on to the Bible.
The thing about God and His Word is that we cannot study Him as we study other subjects. As we read and think on His Word and about Him, God reveals Himself. That is why it is unbefitting for someone to say that science has not proven that God exists. Well, science will never prove that God exists. Science is the study of the natural. God is supernatural. And then they will ask for proof that God exists. They want to apply the empirical method, which is the core of scientific reasoning, to God. If that was possible, faith would not exist. The empirical method is all about proof through observation that is replicable, generable and reliable and has been controlled and tested under various conditions. Faith is believing without seeing. While everything that exists is proof of the existence of God, the only way to God is to believe without seeing. For, He will not be studied like a rat in a lab. Instead, He will reveal Himself as the God of glory that He is.
Intelligence and knowledge cannot enable us to know God. Paul himself had so much knowledge, including knowledge of the Old Testament. You would think that just by studying the prophecies and the psalms that he would understand all that was happening before him. He was well-versed in it all. Yet, he could not see God until God revealed Himself. This is not to say that knowledge is evil. It is not evil. It can be good and can be useful. But it is limited.
b. Jesus spent majority of His time with the disciples teaching them.
Discipleship is before ministry. What Jesus wants to do within an individual is so much more important than what Jesus wants to do through an individual. And as I have explained in my previous posts, if someone does not have the Holy Spirit within them, the Holy Spirit will not pour out from them. Yes, He may use that person, but it will be limited. It will be like how He used the donkey in Numbers 22:28, and that cannot compare to how He used His prophets, apostles and other servants. I mean, even handkerchiefs and aprons that Paul would touch would heal the sick and cast out demons (Acts 19:1-12). Wow. But it was not Paul. It was God in Paul.
You must know who Jesus is and have a deep connection with Him before you go out and start ministering so that others can know who He is. If you go out without knowing Christ and being known by Christ, trust me, the devil will make a fool out of you (Acts 19:13-22). Yet, what is discipleship exactly? Discipleship is when one goes before the throne of God so that He teaches and molds. Its three simple paths are: Studying of the Word of God, fervent prayers and worship by the Holy Spirit and in truth. All three must be constant. If anyone ever wants to strengthen their ministry, they must first strengthen their discipleship with Christ.
c. Then, He trained them when He sent them out. Matthew 10:1-26. Luke 10:1-20.
The Word says that He gave them the power to cast out demons and to heal. Jesus instructed to preach, heal, cast out demons and raise the dead. He told them to do all of this freely because they themselves received Him freely. He told them to bring peace into households that were worthy of it. He told them shake the dust off the feet for those who did not receive their words. This act basically means that one has done their best to preach the gospel and no longer holds any responsibility for whatever happens to those who refused to listen.
Their sole mission was to bring in the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Jesus was speaking of the spiritual house of Israel and not the genetic one. I will one day speak of this in depth... And Jesus also told them that while they would be going out to find lost sheep, they would be encountering wolves. He also said that if He has been persecuted by these wolves, they themselves were not exempt from persecution. For the servant is not greater than the master.
This all sounded like a full ministry, BUT there was a trial run first. It was a training course with a lot of action involved. In Luke, it says that Jesus sent out 70 disciples 2 by 2. When they came back from this training session, they were excited about the fact that they had so much power over the enemy. Yet, Jesus told them to not rejoice over that but instead over their salvations. Again, discipleship is above ministry.
d. Testing. There is not a great great servant of God in the Bible who did not have to first go through some type of testing or adversity.
God asked Abraham to kill Isaac. Jacob had to fight an angel. Noah was mocked. Moses spent 40 years in the desert before encountering the burning bush. Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, and the devil tempted Him. Paul spent 3 days blind. Etc. Every one has their own different experiences, for everyone is different. And every one has a different timeline. For some it was many years. For some it was a few years. For some it was many days. For some it was a few days. Again, everyone is different.
Looking at Paul, one would think that it would take him years to get it, right? For, it seemed like he was obstinate, refusing to believe in the gospel. Yet, it was not that he was obstinate but that he was blind, spiritually blind, and his testing was symbolic of that. Paul was zealous for God, yet this man who had so much knowledge was without knowledge. Wow.
As for the disciples, their time of testing came during the death of Christ. They had to endure adversity during Christ's imprisonment, crucifixion and death. They even went into hiding.
What has been your time of testing and adversity?
e. Lastly, He anointed.
After the resurrection of Christ, the faith of the disciples became strong. And Jesus promised them this in Acts 1:8: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” This is the anointing.
I truly believe that anointing is not a one time pouring. The same goes for adversity. Yes, there will be that monumental time, but after, Jesus will still send adversity our way to refine our character and our ministries, and He will keep on pouring more and more anointing over us if we keep on tapping into the Source, the Holy Spirit.
What is the gospel? The gospel is the good news. That is what it literally translates to. What is the good news? John 3:16: "God so loved that World so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
1 Corinthians 1:22-23
For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
Anything apart from the love of the Father and the life, death and resurrection of Christ is NOT the gospel.
The gospel is NOT telling people about how holy you are and how everyone else are all sinners. If you were actually so holy you would not still be on this earth. #Enoch
The gospel is NOT your testimony and how it makes you more "special" than everyone else. It really does not.
The gospel is NOT you can live however you want, Jesus will still love you and will pour blessings over you. Yes, Jesus loves you and that is why He does not want sin to destroy you.
The gospel is NOT if you live a life pleasing to God, you will get a big house, a luxury car, etc. You should seek to be holy to please God because you love God.
The gospel is NOT your salvation just might slip through your hands so keep a good grip on it. God entrusted the Israelites with their salvations in the Old Testament with the law, let us just say that it did not work out so well...
The gospel is NOT if you work hard enough you will go to heaven. You are almost there, keep going. They will save a seat for you in heaven when Jesus comes and gets those who trusted in Him and not in their works.
The gospel is NOT saying hateful words to someone you do not like. For God so LOVED. Hmm...
The gospel is NOT shaming sinners into eternal condemnation. So that WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish...
The gospel is NOT Bible verses taken out of context.
The gospel is NOT life coaching.
The gospel is NOT self-boasting.
The gospel is NOT extremism.
The gospel is NOT religiosity.
The gospel is NOT whatever it is that we want it to be.
The purpose of every Christian ministry is to preach the gospel and fulfill the great commission of Matthew 28:16-20. To make disciples all over the world and to baptize them in the name of Jesus Christ.
Many times we stray from the gospel and from ministering the gospel because out intentions for ministering is not aligned to the gospel. If you are a Christian minister in any shape or form - even if you sweep the church you are still a minister in the kingdom of God - why do you minister?
Is it to prove something to a person or people?
Is it to fulfill some kind of vendetta?
Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
Is it because you are forced to?
Is it to serve yourself?
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Is it for people to see you and to praise you?
Is it to boast about yourself?
2 Corinthians 4:5
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
Is it to obtain a gain?
Is it a social activity?
It is to cover sin?
Whatever the reason may be, if it is not to bring glory to Christ and bring souls to Christ or closer to Christ, the reason is illegitimate.
May the peace of God be with you. Seriously. May you actually have His peace. For as a minister, you will encounter persecution, difficulties and all. If you do not have His peace, you will become like waves tossed at sea. The words of people will be tossing you around. The actions of people will be tossing you around. All of the other different attacks of the devil will be tossing you around.
You must remain in the Spirit, and you must be led by the Spirit as you minister. You truly cannot accomplish anything at all without Him. Your flesh cannot do any good. It will only bring destruction. Do not be led by the flesh, do not be led by others, do not be led by this world and do not be led by the devil. Be led by the Holy Spirit.
You must remain in His peace.
Yet, this is more about bringing peace to others. Those in the world believe themselves to be living normal lives though they are living by the lies of the devil under condemnation. Their lives are in turmoil, and as much as they go through counseling, read self-help books and all, they cannot fix it. Jesus is the Savior. As much as they try to break free from sin, which they simply know as evilness, they only fall deeper into it. Jesus is the Redeemer. As much as they try to fill in that void that only Christ can fill, they are always left disappointed. Jesus is the Living Water, and those who drink of Him will never be thirsty again (John 4:13-14).
They are without peace.
And it is only the gospel that can give them peace. Only the gospel can enable them to have peace with God and peace in God.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces [b]perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Yet, here is the big question: Why is this all part of the armor of God for the Christian?
Well, true ministry is straight up war against the devil. One is seeking to take souls from the devil to bring to Christ Jesus. The devil is not happy about that, and he fights back. Yet, He who is with us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Amen. Amen. Amen.
No matter what, do not stop preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ and be FULLY armored!!!!!!!
Much love and blessings,
Emery in Christ
P.S. All Bible verse are from the New King James Version unless otherwise indicated.
Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.
Yes, you had to read that twice. #RepeatedExposureEffect
I have been writing on the Armor of God, and I would like to share a battle that I have been facing.
Oh, I have seen so many things in my mere days. Verily, I tell you. I have seen the grotesqueness of pride. Even in the places where Christians come together to worship the Lord. Yes, even where Christians come together to worship the Lord. That is the sad truth. See, what happens is that there are these wolves in sheep clothing. And one thing to see under their false sense of humility is pride.
They believe themselves to be over God. Like little gods on earth. They speak whatever they want. They do whatever they want. They even use God's pulpit to do it. And they certainly do not care about offending God with their lacking wit.
Mind you, I did not write, "lack of wit." For, a person may be witty or cunning yet so unintelligent and having no knowledge. I wrote, "lacking wit." Holds a different meaning.
With that explanation of their pride, you can see why they are fools. For the Word says that wisdom begins with reverence for the Lord Most High. Who can be wise without reverence for Him?
But what can we do about these wolves in sheep clothing? The simple answer: Pray for them. And when we pray for them, we must make sure to list who they are specifically. For, we should be specific as a way to plead before the Lord as we bring these souls before His throne.
Those poor souls. Yes, I do say "poor souls." Do you know that the most vicious can be the most insecure? They direly need humility and wisdom. And more than anything, they direly need love, for love is above everything.
I have been hearing "wisdom and humility" at my church again and again, and every time I hear it, I think of those wolves in sheep clothing, and now, I shall remember to lift up a prayer to the Lord for them.
As so: "Heavenly Father, I pray for the pastors, evangelist, deacons, deaconesses, heads of small groups, heads of sub-ministries, workers and lay persons of the church that I have been attending for the past 11 years, the Church of God of Silver Spring, for they have been using Your pulpit to slander. They have taken words written privately and publicly and words spoken publicly, and they have used them for their benefits and have also been twisting them to hurt their speakers, including myself.
They have said false and evil things of those attending the church. This includes men, women, youth and children. They have also been hostile as they approach church attendees while walking around when leading worship or preaching. They make people who go to hear Your Word, worship You and pray to You feel persecuted. Your church coming together should bring encouragement and not persecution. Therefore, at times, people such as myself want to leave the church. - Not the universal church of Christ, but the local church to go to another. - But the church, even the local church, does not belong to them. It belongs to You. You are the One who sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for those who put their trust in You. They did not die for anyone. They could not even do what Jesus did even if they wanted to. Again, the church belongs to You.
Father, though You have sent outside preachers to speak openly against their sins, their hatred, their arrogance, their foolery and their rebellion, they have continued in their sins with no conscientiousness for their wrongs. They hear Your rebuking, but they close their hearts to it and refute it. Then, they put on what they know to be true of themselves on others, especially those who have called them out on their sins privately, such as myself. For example, pride. They have constantly refused to bow down before You and to submit to Your Word, but they call other people prideful. They have also spoken lies of Your Word, yet they pray for others to be wise. In Matthew 7:1-5, You speak on how one should first remove the log in their eyes, before calling out the splint in another's eyes. If they would just look at themselves and allow the Holy Spirit to heal them, they will be able to truly understand how others need to change.
What they do does not hurt me, but it irritates me because I hate sin. And I know that it displeases You because You hate sin more than me, especially since they have been using your pulpit to do these malicious acts. I also know that though You are slow to anger, You do get angry. Therefore, please help them to see their sins now and to repent of their sins now so that they can live under Your mercy and not under Your wrath. Whatever it is that makes them speak and act with such disdain, I pray that You free them of it. I pray that You heal their wounds and free their souls from whatever is persecuting them. For persecuted people persecute people.
Father, I also pray for their victims. I pray for the men, the women, the youth and the children who have had to succumb under their constant verbal attacks. I especially pray for the youth who are more successtiple. I pray that You may encourage the youth to love and pray for their leaders though the leaders have shown themselves to be far from You. We must pray for the leaders to repent, for when the head is sick, the whole body is sick. Just like with chess, we must protect the king or else the whole game will be over. And we must all repent and seek after Your glory.
And I pray specifically for myself. They have attacked me on many things that I have written privately and that others know of me publicly. They have attacked me for being intelligent and having knowledge, both knowlege of Your Word and academic knowledge. They have attacked me because I attended a prestigious college. They have attacked me for my career as a teacher. They have attacked for what I make by the hour. They have attacked me for my desire to study theology. They have attacked me for my ministry, which is mostly online. They have also attacked me for the ministerial works that I have performed at the basic church level. They have attacked me even in terms of my sentimental life. How interesting. They have attacked me for any favor and blessing that Your have given me.
And just for the readers, Father, I want to share that amidst these attacks, You have just been blessing me again and again. I received a promotion just after three months working for a new employer. Then, You gave me a good raise, a good yearly review and another good raise. You also constantly bless the work of my hands and my financial life. You have blessed me with the opportunity to take online Bible courses. Etc.
Therefore, I encourage my readers to look at this small testimony and to not be moved when people say evil things of them and persecute them because of who they are in Christ. Their persecutors will only bless them. Now, I speak. of facing difficulties because of who one is in Christ and not of facing difficulties because of one's sins.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, forso they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
When I shared such blessings, they said that I am prideful and parading around. And it is fine for them to say that. But I will always rejoice over the good things that the Lord has done for me, and I will always count my blessings.
Also, when I would correct them for misusing the Word and tell them to repent privately, they would say that I had to be quiet and "humble." As in I had to take in whatever they said or did. I actually thought that I should be quiet after hearing preachers speak on being quiet and such. I already knew from the Word of God that God could ask one to either speak or be quiet. All depending on His Will. But I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to speak. So, I went into prayer and asked You, Father, what You wanted me to do.
You led me to Luke 18:35-42
Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. 36 And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. 37 So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 38 And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, 41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”
42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
You told me to cry out louder.
Father, may You restore Your pulpit and may it be under the dictation of the Holy Spirit instead of fleshly men.
Lord, give those wolves in sheep clothing wisdom and humility. Give those who slander others wise tongues. Give those who seek others to fall, a humbled spirit so that they themselves do not fall. And give them love. They are so hungry for Your love.
And I speak not behind their backs, for I know that they read these posts. I truly do pray that You change them for their own good. May they become of You, good, consecrated and anointed.
I am sure that they will have much to say. I care not.
In the name of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen."
Remember, no matter how vicious a soul, Jesus died for it, and you must pray for it.
Much love and blessings,
Emery in Christ
Where I am, we are expecting our first snow showers tonight. And I just love this image. It is quite clear that it is snowing heavily, but did you notice that the tree still has leaves and still looks intensely beautiful? It does not matter what is storming around us, as long as we are connected to the source of it all, Christ Jesus, we will produce fruit in all seasons (Job 29:19; Psalm 1; Jeremiah 17:8; Ezekiel 47:12; John 15:1-8). So, then why should we be disconcerted because of hardships? Let us hope in God, for we shall praise Him again and again!
And I know that Haiti shall praise Him again and again...
Much love and blessings,

Better to go to the house of mourning
Than to go to the house of feasting,
For that is the end of all men;
And the living will take it to heart.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter,
For by a sad countenance the heart is made better.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
I remember the day when I told you that I loved you. The sky was black and vast. And I could just see us going into deep, dark distances. We could run through the fields of the galaxies. And never come back… Nothing could ever stop us. Nothing. Who dare to oppose the love that I have for you? A love so real? A love surreal?
And when I looked up, it was like the stars were rejoicing over us, gleaming so beautifully, knowing that this love that we have was prophesized by the ancients. They were waiting for a time like this. A time of once in a lifetime. That is what I feel like it is. A love that can breathe only once in a while. It is all kind of magical, right? Or maybe a miracle?
I guess it was kind of like the birth of Christ. He was there in the manger and there were these angels and the shepherds and the wise men. Oh, it really did not matter where they were. It was all about what was happening. Just like when I am with you. It really does not matter where we are as long as I am in your arms, right? But they did not think about the pain, did they? Did they think about why He was born? You know… that He came to earth to suffer and die?
I am just really thinking about that… cause sometimes… when I think of our love… it is like you just want me to die. Cause it is like you can just never get it. You can just never get me. So, here I am loving you. But you are just always leaving me empty.
And I am just looking at you laying there besides to me. But no matter how we connect, I just always see that wall pushing you away from me. I tried to climb it, but it just looks so tall…
And I just wish that you would be my superman and fly over it and rescue me from the pain of it all. And while you are at it, I guess you could make a quick stop to pick of the pieces that splattered when you broke my heart…
I just wanted to love you…
I just wanted to share what has been going on between me and my boyfriend. PSYCH!!! Ha, ha!
Whenever we think of the love story between Christ and the Christian or the Father and His Children or the Savior and the Redeemed, we think of this beautiful love story with flowers and green fields and joy and laughter.
But the reality is that, at times, it can be very PAINFUL. And it all began with that moment when we first told Jesus that we love Him. I am talking about that time when you sincerely believed in your heart that Christ in truly God, the Son of God and the only Savior by His death and the shedding of His blood on the cross. That time when you understood that you were a wretched sinner and sick just like all human beings are sick and in need of THE Savior. That time when you came before His throne and fell on your knees and confessed your love for Him. Yes, the very first, “I love You.”
And from there, there was just so much anticipation for great things. It all seemed so wonderful and jovial. You just brought a ticket to heaven, eternal life with God! But then you find that no matter how you connect with Him through prayer or worship or His Word, there is this wall that serves as this barrier.
And it is not really sin because you hate the sin by the love that He poured into your heart when you first had faith. You had to have faith first. For, though love is greater than faith, love comes from faith. You had to first believe in Him and make peace with Him, and then, He poured His love into your heart so that you could love Him, love yourself and love others. Then from the love came hope. The hope of eternal life with Christ, and that hope will not disappoint (Romans 5:1-5; Matthew 22:34-40; 1 Corinthians 13).
But this barrier remained (Isaiah 59:2). You kept on sinning because of this thing you have about you (Romans 7:15-20). It is called the human nature or the sinful flesh or the old man. And you have realized that it has to die (Romans 8:12-13; Galatians 5:24). But it is not some distant construct that could dissipate - and you would not care – but it is you yourself that simply must perish. YOU must perish. Your thoughts no longer matter. Your desires no longer matter. Your feelings no longer matter. Your knowledge, skill and experience sets do not matter. Your life histories do not matter. Your understandings about anything do not matter. Nothing about you matters anymore. It is all about GOD. His thoughts. His desires. His feelings. His way. His will.
For, it is when you die that you can live (Romans 8:6). It is like this chemical reaction in which you, the solid of sinful flesh, must go through the fire of the Holy Spirit in order to be transformed into a gaseous state of holiness in order to evaporate to heaven. So, then the balanced chemical equation is this: Death = Life. And you have to do this DAILY. We are to die DAILY in order to live ETERNELY. But it is PAINFUL. Killing the flesh is PAINFUL. Death is PAINFUL.
The Bible describes it as a sword, the Word, penetrating the joints and marrow of the bone (Hebrews 4:12). Visualize that in your head. A doctor taking one of your limbs and digging into the joint and then cutting up the bone and digging into the bone marrow with his sharpest knife while you are still alive and with no sedative. You would feel like you could just die on the operation table. You would feel like you were dying on that table.
That is what it feels like every time we die to ourselves and say no to the desires of the flesh. When we do not make logical explanations or do not debate with the Word of God or do not close our ears and hearts to it. When we actually live it out in full, we are not dancing and singing, instead we are crying and screaming because it is PAINFUL. And at times the anger and frustration come in. And we are like, “God this is not what I signed up for! I just wanted red roses and to go to heaven and walk on streets made of gold.” But God is like, “You must die in order to live. You must carry your cross and share in the death of my Son before you can share in His resurrection” (Matthew 16:24).
And you feel heartbroken and say, “I just wanted to love You…” And God says, “This is loving Me.”

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Jésus répondit: Il est écrit: L'homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement, mais de toute parole qui sort de la bouche de Dieu
